Song #15 Alicia Keys – Like You’ll Never See Me Again

Why I Picked It: I heard it earlier today and it’s one of my favorite songs off of Alicia Keys’ album As I Am.

Why I Like It: Aside from it being a great display of Miss Keys vocal talents, there’s something about asking someone to love you as if there is no time left.

If I had no more time, no more time left to be here, would you cherish everything we have?

The passion evoked in carpe diem/carpe noctum.  Ironically the song isn’t powerful in the ways of other songs of Alicia Keys – A Woman’s Worth or If I Ain’t Got You.  It’s a song of quiet intensity and vulnerability reflected in the chorus, in the finger snaps, in the light repetitive piano.
