La Vida de Caridad: The Butterfly Landing, The Heart In Each Step
Written on September 13, 2010 at 9:24 pm, by cct
My Sunday began with a sermon by my church’s Senior Minister Rev. Dr. R. Scott Colglazier. It was the beginning of our year’s theme of “Love, Compassion, and the Art of Forgiveness.” In his sermon (available as an MP3 on the FCCLA.org website), Dr. Colglazier talked about this moment he had:
Burning Qurans. WTF.

I heard this on NPR and read it on CNN – a pastor wants to burn Qurans on the anniversary of 9/11. I mean, really…seriously? How does that solve anything? How is this a stand about being American and supporting America? Being American should mean that you value the freedom of religion and that being a Christian or Muslim or Jewish or Buddhist or not believing in anything is okay.
As a Christian, should I turn my back on my fellow people, burn their holy books because I don’t agree with them? No.

YouTube: “A Little More of You” Cover (on Piano!)
Written on August 27, 2010 at 11:56 am, by cct
I’ve had a keyboard for years and took piano for a semester in high school, almost took piano for a semester in college (but then my hands were acting up), but I’ve never really been able to playing on it (aside from Fur Elise must to the chagrin of and subsequent banning by my friend Adam). Occasionally I’ll be able to tinker with the keys and pick out some basic melody of familar songs, but not the actually whole songs – let alone playing the piano and singing anyway. But the other day, with some obssessive concentration, I was able to learn the basic piano for Ashley Chambliss’ “A Little More of You”. It doesn’t sound as pretty as her more elaborate version, but I do feel accomplished and I’m all about that.
Scott Pilgrim Avatar

Thought I’d make myself an avatar on the Scott Pilgrim movie site, having just seen the movie and all.
I highly recommend the movie for any video game geek and/or nerd – which is obvious – but ultimately it’s just a great, funny story that I might recommend to just anyone.
